This is an excellent float trip for the floater who has lots of time and wants a full Alaskan experience.
The River Begins at Turquoise Lake in Lake Clark National Park. From there it flows southwest for 220 miles until it meets the Nushagak River. The first 58 miles on the way to Half Cabin Lake area are filled with Class II-III rapids, and can be tough during low water. From this point all the way to the Nushagak the river runs much calmer at Class I rapids.
